Julie Chen Moonves, who was one the original hosts and moderators on The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award winner talk show) was back on the air in August for the 22nd edition. Her writing background was evident before becoming host. Her love of writing was for the written word. It actually brought her an Emmy. Also, she won an Emmy award for her outstanding host of a talk program. The Talk is a show that examines current events with five female hosts. Chen Moonves co-hosted CBS News' weekday morning program The Early Show in 2002 in 2010 and then became the host of the talk show. Prior to that, she was the CBS Morning News anchor and hosts for The Early Show. In the wake of 9/11, Chen Moonves tracked down the father and leader hijacker to give an exclusive interview. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news programme, profiling celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul. Chen Moonves covered the Emmy Award-winning CBS Sunday Morning News broadcast. The show featured celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis or Paula Abdul. Before joining The Early Show he was a CBS owned station reporter in New York City, WCBS. In her final year of university, she worked as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) as well as producer for ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news service). Her first job in broadcasting was as a desk assistant for ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline with Ted Koppel, who remains one of her journalism heros. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel in the production of the award-winning Columbia du-Pont special Anatomy of a Riot which focussed on those who were involved in the Los Angeles riots of '92.
